Review of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018)

If you’re looking for a new phone to buy in 2018, the middle of the road is where you’ve got to be. As with the best mobile phones under 30,000, Samsung has shaken up the mid-range market against its high-end competitors.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 is Samsung’s first phone with triple rear cameras. This device looks great with its 2.5D glass front and back. One of the main features and highlights of the product is the triple rear camera. The reason Samsung’s done that is because nearly half the millennials are hooked on to the whole camera experience, and it appeals to a broader audience. But this isn’t the only feature; Samsung has given this device an upgrade from every angle.

Let’s have a closer look at 6 major Samsung A7 specifications.

1. 6.0 Inch Super AMOLED Display

The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 features a full HD 6.0 Inch Super AMOLED display, which is wrapped around a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Vivid colors and contrast ratio along with a 74.4% screen-to-body-ratio gives this phone great display. There are considerable bezels but there still is an infinity display, so you do get a wide viewing format and curved edges on the display. The buttons are on the screen, but most of the apps will make use of the full-screen option which is available on the device.

2. Triple Camera

The primary camera is a 24 MP f/1.7 sensor and is coupled with a 5 MP f/2.2 depth sensor. The twist here is the inclusion of an 8 MP sensor with an f/2.4 wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view, compared to the 78-degree field of view of the main camera. We’ve seen LG and Asus do this in the past and it’s great to see that Samsung has adopted the same here. The wide angle lens gives a new perspective, making pictures look fresh. Both the rear and the front cameras have portrait modes, and Samsung lets you adjust the strength of the blur. We’ve seen before but what we’re now looking at is the ability to mess around with the background, which is one new feature you will want to check out. The other feature like scene optimizer is Samsung’s way of saying that it has Artificial Intelligence. It can recognize what you’re shooting and optimize the camera settings accordingly.

3. Processor

The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 is available in two variants, 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB storage and 6 GB of RAM with 126 GB. This device is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7885 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz each, and the Mali-G71 MP2 handles GPU duties. This chip is built on the 14-nanometer process and should come close to the Snapdragon 636.

4. Fingerprint Sensor

The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 has an active fingerprint sensor which doesn’t require you to press the power key. Instead, you just have to put your finger on it, and the slightest tap causes the finger to be scanned that wakes up the phone. This is a great feature since it creates another level of security on your device. Not only does it feel nice, but it is also an ideal position for the fingerprint sensor to be in.

5. Dolby Atmos audio technology

Bold, moving, immersive, coming from all directions the experience of Dolby Atmos audio technology is like no other. It completely transforms how you listen to music, taking you to an entirely new place where your entertainment comes alive.

6. Performance

The battery capacity is 3300 mAh. On the software side of things, the A7 runs on an Android 8.1 Oreo with Samsung’s Experience 9.0 on top.
Overall, Samsung seems to be offering some interesting features with the A7 2018, and now you can buy your favorite Samsung mobile on EMI with a debit card.
